THE START OF SOMETHING NEW

SURPRISE!! I'm starting a YouTube channel. *cues cheers and applause*

This is something I've been wanting to do for a while, even before starting my blog, but each time I recorded a video, I wasn't satisfied with the outcome. So, it slipped further to the back of my mind. If you haven't read my About page, here's a little bit about me: I'm a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a B.A. in Mass Media Arts. So, my degree plus my Type A personality wouldn't allow me to put just anything out. Recently, however, I haven't been able to stop thinking of ideas for YouTube. For example, I would create an idea and think, 'oh this would actually be better on video'. Although "creative" and "type A" sounds somewhat like a confusing combination, it's actually not, in my mind (lol). In everything I do, I have to have some sort of creative outlet, but it has to be done in the most perfect (by my standards) way possible.

As you may have guessed, the channel will definitely be an extension of Deanna Luvs You, and it will focus primarily on fashion/style. I'm going to bring styling tips, hauls, lookbooks, and a bunch of other cool things. So stay tuned!! Also, become a DLY Insider to get exclusives and be the first to know about new posts!!

 Hey guys!! I hope to find you all in great spirits this morning. I've been up since 6am for honestly no reason at all (lol), but I'm here today with a brand new blog post!! *cues cheers* Although Fall is around the corner, it's still super warm here in Atlanta. I don't normally wear shorts, but when I do, I try to find the most comfortable pair. These shorts definitely fit that description. They're so comfy and airy, and not to mention they're really cute!

Found these beauties at H&M under $20!! I paired them with a black blazer and a cute cami, and finished them off with comfy flats.

FRAGRANCE 101: FINDING YOUR SIGNATURE SCENT

Hi friends!! Nice smells are in my happy place. I often times find myself even walking down the detergent aisles just because of how nice it smells (lol), and that is the exact same way I feel about fragrances. I believe fragrances should match the season of the year, however florals and fresh scents are my absolute favorites. So today, I'm going to share a few tips on selecting your signature scent.

First things first: you obviously would want to go to your local Sephora, Ulta, or department store to smell the different fragrances. There's usually fragrance test slips nearby, so I suggest spraying different scents to get a sense of what you like. Once you've selected the one you like the most, spray it on yourself; preferably your wrist, then leave the store and see how it holds up after a few hours, or until to you go home to shower. This way, you'll get a sense of how your natural body oder and the scent mesh together; also known as, "body chemistry". If you like, go back and purchase that fragrance. If you don't like, then try a different fragrance. 

Lastly, pay attention to the scents you're reaching for the most. Meaning, understand what you're smelling; there are different scent categories such as, floral, fruity, green and woody, just to name a few. Whichever it is, you clearly like that scent and wear it well, so chances are, it's your signature. Hopefully, these tips are very helpful in your journey to finding your signature scent. PRINTED PANTS

Hi friends!! I've been working so much that I haven't been able to find a balance between work, blog and personal life. Slowly, but surely it's getting better, however it's currently 2:30 am (lol). So I'm here today to share a new outfit post. I love these pants so much. They're comfortable, cute and they make my butt look good (lol; I promise that's the reason I purchased them). Like most of my clothing, you can style these pants in multiple ways; dress them up, dress them down or pair with a cute blazer. There are so many possibilities. I snagged them at the H&M end of season sale for under $20! If you can find them, I say grab them ASAP.
