TIDY UP YOUR CLOSET

If you're like me, you tend to hold on to clothes that you think you may wear one day. In my mind, I'm always thinking that there would be some magical occasion and I'd have to pull out that dark purple cocktail dress in the back of my closet. Wrong! I need to give it away.

Well recently, I read an article that sparked my interest a little more. I love a clean and organized closet, and don't get me wrong, my closet is very clean and organized. However, yesterday as I was cleaning, I realized I barely have room for all of my things.

In comes The KonMari method, a system created by Japanese organizational guru Mari Kondo. The method literally means to "keep belongings that 'spark joy', and get rid of those that don't."

The article, as well as the book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Mari Kondo herself, goes into greater detail, but I'm sure you get it. I wouldn't suggest throwing away clothing items, unless they're just torn to pieces. Try giving them away to the less fortunate. Someone is always grateful for things we take for granted.

So I challenge you all! Turn it into a fun little project. It may be time consuming if you have tons of clothes, but once you've finished, you'll be super happy.

Happy organizing!
XO, Deanna
